A Guide to Victoria Park

Located within Canton, Victoria Park is a favourite for many parents and carers of young children and has loads to offer. The park itself is grade 2 listed and beautifully maintained, there are plenty of spots to throw down a picnic blanket and tuck into cake & coffee from one of the many bakeries/cafes in and around the park.

Play Area

Victoria Park boasts one of the largest play areas in Cardiff with separate areas for toddlers and older children. The toddler area includes a large toddler friendly climbing frame, 4 toddler swings, an assault course, role play area and a larger slide. The park does get really busy, even on weekdays but we have never had to wait long for a swing to become available and the area around play equipment is quite spacious.

Splash Pad

The splash pad at Victoria Park has now reopened with Covid-safe measures in place to ensure everyone can use the site safely. A socially distanced queuing system has been introduced and a limit of 50 children are allowed into the splash pad during each 25 minute session.

Getting There

The downside to Victoria Park is definitely the parking. There is no dedicated car park and parking on the nearby streets is limited. On busy days don’t expect a space near the park.
